Dr Aleisha Atkin

                 Clinical Psychologist

 

Dr Aleisha Atkin is a Clinical Psychologist with close to 20 years of experience. Her career has spanned Australia, Canada, and the UK, bringing a wealth of knowledge to her current practice with adult clients. Her warm and compassionate client-centred approach focuses on empowering individuals to overcome psychological challenges and achieve lasting wellbeing.

Aleisha offers individual therapy for adults, helping clients recover from a range of mental health conditions and improve functioning during life challenges. Aleisha works with clients on their anxiety, body and eating issues, traumatic events, mood, substance use and dysfunctional behaviour. Aleisha also works with first responders, victims of crime, GP referred clients and self-funded clients.

Her therapeutic approach is always tailored to the individual clients needs and may include the therapies Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

Aleisha is a provider of ACC funded therapy for physical injury and sensitive claims. She is also available to complete formal comprehensive psychological assessments and treatment reviews from a variety of referrers, and provides these regularly for ACC.

In addition to providing specialist psychological assessments and treatment, Aleisha is also an experienced clinical supervisor and is available to supervise individuals working in health settings, support roles, and roles where psychological wellbeing needs to be proactively maintained.
